It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James R. McDowell of Crosby, Pennsylvania, born in Smethport, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James McDowell and Golda McDowell (Eberly); his son Wayne Douglas McDowell; and his siblings, Helen Murray, Bert and Glenn McDowell.
He is survived by: his wife Anita L. Russell; his daughter Donna Swanson (Edward) of Smethport; his grandchildren, Jeremy McDowell (Chantel), Kara Barton (Eric), Jill Prince and Kelly Swanson (Andrew Terhune); his great grandchildren, Jezlyn Barton, Tyler, Douglas McDowell, Sawyer, Sterling Prince and Dylan Swanson; and his brother Richard McDowell of Smethport.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
