It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anita L. McDowell of Crosby, Pennsylvania, who passed away on March 20, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Russell and Violet Russell (Hibbard); her husband James R. McDowell; her son Wayne Douglas McDowell; and her sisters, Arlene Hixenbaugh and Jean Stickles.
She is survived by: her daughter Donna Swanson (Edward) of Smethport, Four; her grandchildren, Jeremy McDowell (Chantel), Kara Barton (Eric), Jill Prince (Gregory Eaton) and Kelly Swanson (Andrew Terhune); her great grandchildren, Jezlyn Barton, Tyler, Douglas McDowell, Sawyer, Sterling Prince and Dylan; her siblings, Herbert "Mike" Russell of Washington, Walter "Bucky" Russell of Limestone, NY, Charles "Tink" Russell of Butler, One and Ardith White of South Carolina; and her brother-in-law Richard McDowell of Smethport. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
