He was predeceased by: his parents, Clara Schappell (Wolfe) and Clarence Schappell; his wife Irma (Guldin); and his sister Annie Eckert. He is survived by: his daughters, Joanna Boyer, Barbara Hornberger (John) and Denise Gilbert (Michael); and his grandchildren, Jodie Hertz, Jamie Boyer (Annie Bethlehem), Brett Hornberger and Naomi Reber (Zachary). He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
