He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Reed and Mary Bittle Reed; his siblings, Mary Esther and Kay S. Reed; and his grandson Richard Blagrave.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Heisler; his children, Daniel, Carlene, Brent and Brad; and his sister Barbara Krause. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
