He was predeceased by: his parents, James Chappell and Magdalene Chappell (Albrey). He is survived by: his wife Susan L. Chappell (Smith); his sons, Marcus Randale Chappell (Shannon) and James Chappell (Leslie); his stepchildren, Wayne M. McManus (Lynne) and Carrie A. Cammel (Paul); and his sister Janet Lee. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
