He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Pasquale Capitosti and Edna Lucille McGinity; his brother-in-law Robert G. Jones; and his grandchildren, James A. Capitosti II, Hunter S. McCabe and Alicia B. Hickey Wesp.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Capitosti (Gates); his sister Elaine C. Jones of Youngstown, OH; and his children, Debra (Tim Jevicky) of Home, PA, James (Marcella), Denise Capitosti of Statham, GA and Betty Capitosti (Robert Patterson) of Creekside, PA.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
