He was predeceased by: his father Leroy B. Smith; his grandson Donald E. Smith; and his siblings, Betty Jean Roudyboush, Joanne LuRue Rimel, Rena May Goldinger, William Thomas Smith, Richard Leroy Smith and Darrell Edward Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Smith (Erb); his children, Cindy A. Boylstein (Terry) of Creekside, Brenda L. Gusick (Tim) of Streator, IL, Larry C. Beer, Jr. (Deneen) of Heilwood, Pamela Lynn Gearhart (Christopher) of Marion Center and Jeffrey D. Smith (Deborah) of Indiana; and his sisters, Laura Elaine Wolfe (Richard), Sally Ann Hedges (John), Sandra Lee Wojcik (Thomas), Connie Sue Bowersox (Ronald) and Cathy Jean Corbett (Jack). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 13 step great-grandchildren.
