He was predeceased by: his son Christopher Anthony; his parents, John Salopek and Louise Salopek (Petrow); and his parents-in-law, Susanna (McNally) and Victor Costantini.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane; his sons, Eric Daniel and Zachary John; his daughter-in-law Gretchen (Ludwig); his granddaughter Joanna Louise; his sisters-in-law, Christine Rohe and Patricia Costantini; his sister Jane Kenovich; his nieces and nephews, Adam Rohe (Aubrey Burke), Madeline Rohe, Jennifer Acevedo (Josh) and David Kenovich; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, James, Thomas Biden and Jacob Acevedo.
