He was predeceased by: his parents, John Everett and Ruth Shoop (Becker); and his siblings, Thomas V. Shoop and Ann Mall. He is survived by: his wife Nancy D. Shoop (Yeomans) of Cowansville; his nephew Michael Mall (Robin) of Livermore, CA; his nieces, Mary McCarthy (Tom) of Camarillo, CA and Eva Shafor (Steve) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jacob, Courtney Mall, Kyle, Erin McCarthy, Caden, Lily Shafor and Yeomans.

He was also a member of American Legion Post 325 in Cowansville and Freeport Presbyterian Church, a former board member of the Armstrong County Community Foundation and a member of the Freeport School Board for six years.
