She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles W. Hannold and Essie Mae Clinger Hannold; her husband David Smail; her son Amos L. Smail; and her siblings, Charles Hannold, Ruth Walker, Mary Hickson, Esther Smathers, Sara "Sally" Raybuck and Naoma Young.
She is survived by: her children, Ralph E. "Pete" Smail of Corsica, Ronald A. Smail of Corsica, Wilma Lee Johnson of Erie, Karen Lott (Charles) of Corsica and Sandy Ferguson (Martin) of Summerville; her siblings, Robert Hannold of Sigel and Betty Walters of Brookville; and her pet Sadie of Erie. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
