He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Thompson and Mary Katherine Thompson (Neiderman); his stepmother Geneva Thompson; his brothers, Ed and Art "Pud" Thompson; his niece Pammy Thompson; and his brother-in-law Roy Bunch.
He is survived by: his wife Allison Thompson; his children, Jason Thompson (Nicole) and Heather Thompson Powell (Ryan); his grandchildren, Malia Hollenbaugh, KayLea Powell, Gabriel Powell, Leviticus Powell (Vic), Remington Powell, Kinsley Thompson, Audrey Thompson, Ruby Thompson and Jesse Thompson; his stepgrandson Ronnie Slaugenhoup; his sister Crystal Dechant (Andy); and his siblings-in-law, Mark Bunch (Brenda), Craig Bunch (Karen) and Doris Troup (Roger). He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews, 23 great-nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-nephew.
