He was predeceased by: his wife Annette Ploss (Hughes); his grandparents, Archie, Irene Ploss, Robert Garfield and Dorothy Garfield VanCise; and his stepparents, Marguirite Ploss and Dexter Sandburg.
He is survived by: his parents, Ronald D. Ploss and Mary L. Garfield Messinger; his sister Michelle (John); his stepchildren, Kyle Stegall and Alie Morawey; and his stepparents, Franklin Messinger and Shirley Ploss. He is also survived by three nieces, three uncles, two aunts and many cousins.
