He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Gillihan and Lillian Spearman; his stepfather Tom Spearman; and his brother Gary Gillihan. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Gillihan (Richards); his children, Rikki Gillihan (Daniel Leek) of Corry, PA and Austin Gillihan (Kylee Conklin) of Corry, PA; his siblings, Brenda McGlothlin (Steve) of Indianapolis, IN, Don Gillihan of Indianapolis, IN, Jesse Gillihan (Debbie) of Indianapolis, IN and Terry Spearman (Karen) of Fayetteville, NC; his parents-in-law, Dan and Shirley Richards of Corry; his siblings-in-law, Wanda Nelson (Mark) of Phoenix, AZ, Brenda Gastecki (Tim) of Corry, PA, Carol Graham (John) of Hoopers Creek, NC. and Dan Richards of Scottsdale, AZ; and his granddaughters, Karsyn Gillihan and Hadlee Morse. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
