It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Mary Ficcardi (Corry, Pennsylvania), born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 28, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Pondel and Sophie Pondel; her husband George E. Ficcardi of Corry, PA.; her siblings, Joseph, Thadeus Pondel and Jenny Messenger; her brother-in-law Arthur Messenger; and her nephews, Bruce Pierce, Mark and David Pondel.
She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Marie Huston of Lexington, KY, Mary Helen Ficcardi of Lexington, KY and Patricia Ann Hoffman (Timothy) of Erie, PA.; her siblings, Laura Szewczuk of Orange Park, FL and Hank Pondel (Donna); her grandchildren, Daniel Hoffman, Sean (Lindsey Hoffman), Megan Hoffman of Erie, PA and Cailyn Huston (Brian Ewalt) of Lexington, KY; her great grandchildren, Carter and Calleigh Hoffman of Grindstone, PA; and also, Genowefa Porebny (Roman) and Bertha Mercer.
All CDC guidelines requiring face masks and social distancing will be in place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
