He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Nelson and Twila Miles Nelson; and his siblings, Betty Ross, Dorothy May, Donna Brown, Anna Conklin, Mary Gifford, Elwood and Jack Nelson.
He is survived by: his sister Bonita Nunn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
