He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul R. and Alma; and his sister June Kopp. He is survived by: his children, Marybeth Vavithes of New Wilmington, PA, James Musgrave (James Palmiero) of Pittsburgh, PA and Peggy Gallagher (Kevin) of Hopewell, PA; his grandchildren, Jessica Marett (Craig) and Mark Vavithes (Abby); his great grandchildren, Lena Marett and Elliot Vavithes; and his wife Patty O'Neill of Sewickley, PA..
