He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora Fiedler and Karl Fiedler; his daughter Carol; his daughter-in-law Marianne; and his siblings, Dorothy, Elmer, Karl and Roy.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth (Johnston); his sons, Eric (Beth), Timothy (Resi) and Don (Tina); and his brother Don. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.

Family welcomes flowers or donations in his name to UPMC Alzheimer's Research.
