He is survived by: his son-in-law Michael F. Pecharo; his grandson Eric Vance; his daughters, Kim E. DeHaven and Carla S. Pecharo; and his grandchildren, Peter J. Merlino of Arizona, Dana M. Pecharo of New York, Nicholas M. Pecharo of Colorado and Heather Leahy of Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Iwo Jima Association of America.
