He was predeceased by: his parents, George Kraus and Leona Reitlinger Kraus; his wife Mary Carol "Mimi" Kraus; his daughter Pam Kraus; his sister Patricia Eckenrode; and his son-in-law Sean Martin Swedish.

He is survived by: his children, Kelly Swedish of Cranberry Twp, James Beining (Lori) of Seminole, FL, Terry Beining (Kim) of Pittsburgh, Michael Beining (Kim) of Zelienople and Cindy Beining Stemberger of Gibsonia; his brother Dennis Kraus (Donna) of Glenshaw; and his pet Holly. He is also survived by four grandsons and six granddaughters; four great-grandchildren.
