He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carol Rosenson Loy; his sons, Andrew Loy (Melissa) of Connellsville, PA and Geoffrey Loy (Bethany) of Pittsburgh, PA.; his siblings, Beverly Loy Taylor of Pittsburgh and Richard F. Loy of Pittsburgh; and his grandfathers, Alex, Max, Reagan and Ryen Loy.
