He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Margaret (Sylves) and Joseph Patrick McGuigan, Jr.; and his half-brothers, George and Edward. He is survived by: his wife Juanita "Janet" Elizon; his son Shawn McGuigan (Nikki); his stepsons, Eljen and Jayson Elizon; and his grandchildren, Julia and Jake.

Due to Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic restrictions, a funeral mass will be scheduled at a later date.
