He was predeceased by: his father Ralph H.; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Berry and James Rhoades. He is survived by: his mother Nellie L. Dilley Knickerbocker, Jr. of Saegertown; his wife Lu Ann; his children, Ryan Knickerbocker (Alesha) of Las Vegas, NV and Kara Knickerbocker of Pittsburgh; his granddaughters, Cora and Ellie Knickerbocker; and his siblings, June Gebhardt (William) of Meadville, Carol Rhoades (Tony Demitras) of Meadville and Myrle Knickerbocker (Peggy) of Greenville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
