He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Brakeman and Autumn Brakeman (Obert). He is survived by: his stepdaughter Cindy Samuels (Mike) of Conneautville; his former wife Judy Jeannerett; his grandchildren, Tonia, Ben Haemer, Elizabeth, Josh Carpenter, Shawn Kiser, Cody, Holly Pringle, Jason Samuels and Shawn Samuels; and his sisters, Sherrel Haskins of Colorado and Letty Range of North East, PA. He is also survived by two nieces and one nephew.
