He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Groover and Virginia Green Groover; and his siblings, Anne Hefferman, Betty Erwin and John Groover.
He is survived by: his wife E. Judy Deeter; his children, Renee A. Anderson (Richard) of Meadville, Susan J. Groover of Conneaut Lake, Robert A. Groover (Jodie) of Cochranton and Doug Groover (Michele) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Sylvia, Sharday, James, Dillon, Devin, Lilly, Natalie, Brooke and Emma; his brother-in-law William Deeter (Darcee) of Meadville; his cousin Pat Baussman of Meadville; and his friend Jerry Walton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
