He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. Minnis and Norma Jean Minnis (Shreck); his siblings, Thomas L. Minnis, James Minnis, Stephen Minnis and Bonnie Edwards (Minnis); and his son Robert James Minnis.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Yoest; his children, Richard Minnis Jr. (Michelle) of Woodlands, Texas and Aubrey Minnis (Dominick DiRienzo) of Meadville; his sisters, Anita Becker (Rick) and Cynthia Splitstone (Don); and his grandchildren, Alexander, Joshua, Grace Minnis, McKenna and Luca DiRienzo.
