He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert K. Schanz and Mildred E. Schanz (Samuels); his sister LuAnn Schanz; his brother-in-law Mike Nanoski; and his nephew Edward J. Schanz.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Schrader of Conneaut Lake, PA; his daughters, Shannon Keas of Conneaut Lake, PA and Holli Schanz (Scott Ebbert) of Atlantic, PA; his daughter-in-law Lisa Phillips of Meadville, PA; his son Donnie Schanz Jr. of Meadville, PA; his grandchildren, Kayla Phillips (Scott Griffith), Caitlin Thom, Brooke Martin (Eric Hacker), Nicholas Thom, Ava Thom and Payton Challingsworth; his great grandchild Harper Griffith; and his siblings, Mary Ann Nanosky of Austintown, OH and Edward Schanz (Joann) of Austintown, OH. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
