He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Smith and Bernice Smith (Worden); and his stepfather Charles Foust. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Smith (Beres); his daughter April Hayes (Ersel) of South Dakota; his stepdaughter Rachel Callahan (Patrick) of Conneaut Lake; his grandchildren, Tyler and Ayden; and his siblings, Diane Irwin of Florida and Charles Foust (Lisa) of Conneaut Lake. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
