She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Herr and Mabel Longenderfer Herr; her husband Mervin B. Sowers, Sr.; her son Mervin B. Sowers, Jr.; her granddaughter Lori Phenegar; and her siblings, Elvin, Mervin, Earl Herr and Irene Wissler.

She is survived by: her daughter Linda L. Farmer of Lancaster; her daughter-in-law Jean Sowers of Mt. Wolf, PA; her grandchildren, Mark, Greg Sowers, Kelly Harrold and Jason (Lisa Farmer); and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Haley and Nolan.
