He was predeceased by: his parent Merritt Makin; his sons, David and Bruce; his son-in-law Kevin Bodenschatz; and his brothers, Russell Makin and John Makin.
He is survived by: his parent Gertrude Makin (Burt); his wife Irene Makin (Toth); his children, Richard Makin of Curwensville and Cathy Bodenschatz of Ferndale; his daughters-in-law, Gail Makin of Athens, GA. and Janet Makin of Ebensburg; and his brothers, Walter Makin (Marge), Bradford Makin and James Makin (Bonnie). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl's memory may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Colver Presbyterian Church.
