We are sad to announce that on September 13, 2024, Verna V. (Schmeck) Shumate of Columbia, Pennsylvania, born in Reinholds, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Schmeck and Gladys Schmeck (Stoud); her children-in-law, Michael Dick and Cheryl Firestine; and her siblings, Bruce, Barry Schmeck and Etta Mae Sheaffer.
She is survived by: her children, Brian Firestine of Arnoldsburg, WV, Brad Firestine of Landisville, Francine Firestine-Harley of Lancaster and Christine Dick of Columbia; and her brother Wayne Schmeck of Ephrata. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
