He was predeceased by: his parents, James Larkin and Eleanor Larkin (Glenn); his son Joseph Larkin; his grandson Jason Larkin Jr.; and his brother Bill Larkin.

He is survived by: his sons, John J. Larkin, Jason Larkin (Melissa) and Carl Larkin; his grandchildren, Charlie, Camryn, Chase, Felicity and Zari; and his siblings, Jim Larkin and Margaret "Peg" Solomon.
