He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson S. Shaffer and Mary M. Shaffer (Coble); his grandson Samuel S. Boob; and his brother Franklin Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Lucy Bobb; his children, Eva M. Shaffer, Julie A. Smith (Tom), Candace Anne Bierly (Alex) and Larry S. Shaffer, Jr. (Dawn); his brothers, Fred Shaffer, Thomas Shaffer and Edward Shaffer (Barb); and his grandchildren, Christy, Aaron, Lucy, Jennifer, Luke, Lance, Vincent, Octavio, Oksana, Ossiana and Orencio. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
