It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Louise of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Milledge "Doc" Ouzts and Bessie Ouzts; her husband James Braxton, Sr.; her siblings, Saundra Lewis of Pennsylvania and Theodore Ouzts (Evelyn) of North Carolina; her children, Charlotte Ahmed (Muhammad) of Pennsylvania, David Braxton of Alabama and Melissa Oglesby of New Jersey; her grandchildren, Tamara Cheek (Elijah) of Maryland, Belinda Stewart (Martin) of Delaware, Tahirah Ahmed of Pennsylvania, Kamaren Braxton of Michigan and Miles Oglesby of New Jersey; her son James Braxton Jr.; her siblings, Nimrod Ouzts, Amize Ouzts, Otis Ouzts, Mae Green, Herbert Ouzts, Sr., Mildred Saylor and Milledge Ouzts, Jr.; and her niece Jai Ashantii. She was also cherished by her husband, siblings, children, and grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Bernardtown (1208 Youngsburg Rd, Coatesville, PA 19320). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. COVID Protocol will be moderately observed.
