She was predeceased by: her parents, John (Herman) and Gertrude. She is survived by: her husband Richard Nearhood; her children, Charles, Mary Ellen, Birkley, Kathleen and Douglas; and her grandchildren, John, Katelynne, Christopher and Jael.

“Sorry to hear of the loss of Aunt Jude. Aunt sure played an important role in the love for reading my son, Logan had growing up. Aunt Jude would tell me you read to that baby before it's born, after it's born and when you think it's not paying any attention. I remember sitting on the couch and Aunt Jude herself reading to my baby bump. (Logan). And boy oh boy did she love that boy when he was tiny and growing up. Love you and until we meet again Aunt Jude.. quack quack!”
