He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy A. Murphy (Tucker) and James A. Murphy; and his sisters, Maryse, Margaret (Peggy) and Evelyn (Evy).

He is survived by: his wife Judy (Judy); his brother Charles (Chic); and his children, Karen (George), Kathy (Jeff), Kim (Scott) and John (Deb). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
