He is survived by: his sons, Richard Patterson, Jr. (Sara) and Robin Patterson (Alyssa); his grandchildren, Emberly, Levi and Carolyn; and his sisters, Margaret Bash (James), Shirley Cribbs (Clark), Donna Stormer and Frances Oswalt (William). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
