He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward Sturgeon and Dorothy Sturgeon (Ashbaugh); his brother James Sturgeon; and his nephew Lee Sturgeon. He is survived by: his daughter Jamie L. Hillegas; his grandchildren, Brittney Hankinson of Paul Hankinson, III and Koltin Dugan; his siblings, Carol Miles (Earl), Rick Sturgeon (Shirley), John "Mabon" Sturgeon (Tabitha), Janet Stumpf (James), Ronald Sturgeon (Janice) and Timothy Sturgeon; and his close friend Deb Weaver. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
