She was predeceased by: her parents, Marjorie Jane Hovis Oakes and Harold Oakes; her sisters, Claribel Oakes Martin and Mary Grace Oakes Vogus; and her siblings-in-law, Jean Cross Flagg, Barb Cross, Chuck Martin, Brud Vogus, Ralph Cross, Al Reep and Jim Flagg.

She is survived by: her husband Homer Cross; her stepchildren, Kathy (Rick), Tom (Kristy) and Cal Cross (Chris); her grandchildren, Ben (Samantha), Matt (Taresa), Coston Cross (Chelsea), Brooke Rumbaugh (Ed), Adam Powell (Jenny) and Stefanie Knight (Dustin); and her siblings-in-law, Helen Cross Reep, Phyllis Cross and Earl Cross. She is also survived by her family, relatives and numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Second Presbyterian Church.
