He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Earl and Bernice Alma McFarland (Phillips); his son Robert McFarland; and his brothers, Charles McFarland and Ralph George McFarland.

He is survived by: his wife Myrtle Miller (Foor); his sons, Randolph Scott McFarland of Hopewell, Jeffery McFarland (Michelle) of Altoona and Timothy (Ann) of Clearville; his sisters, Marge (Ray) of Florida and Sandra of Altoona; and his daughter-in-law Linda McFarland of Breezewood. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 26, great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren.
