It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Akers of Clearville, Pennsylvania, born in Hagerstown, Maryland, who passed away on September 3, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Jackson and Fosta Genevieve Layton (Truax); and her siblings, David Layton and Doris Lee Layton. She is survived by: her close friend Guy Akers; her children, Todd Akers (Tracie), Nicole Houston (Patrick) and Amy Duggan (Joseph); her grandchildren, Mahlon, Macen and Malex Akers; and her brother Edwin Layton (Alice) of Warfordsburg, PA..

We ask that those in attendance would follow CDC guidelines by wearing a mask and following social distancing.
