He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Shimmel and Mabel Shimmel (Parks) of Hyde; his brothers, H. Wesley Shimmel and Norman Shimmel; his siblings-in-law, Teresa Shimmel, Jeff Bush and Rev. David Letts; and his nephew-in-law Eugene Urban.
He is survived by: his siblings, Steven Shimmel (Kim) of Florida, Phyllis Jean Letts of Clearfield, Mona Bush of Woodland, Joan Blackman (Alan) of North Carolina, Dorcas Junod (Richard) of LaJose and Cheryl Myers (Fred); his sister-in-law Marion Shimmel of Carlisle; and his aunts, Pegge Brooks, Maxine Yaglowski and Marjorie Parks of Woodland.
