Patricia A. Watson Obituary

Patricia A. Watson, 86, of Clearfield died on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.

She was born on February 24, 1938 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late John Lloyd and Ruth (Daughenbaugh) Watson.

Ms. Watson was a Clearfield High School graduate and received her Bachelor's degree from Lock Haven College where she majored in Mathematics and Social Studies and minored in Physical Science. She was a math teacher for 34 years, and taught in the Clearfield Area High School, St Mary's High School and the Plainfield, NJ school district. She was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church and the NON Club. She was also a life member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, the National Education Association, the National Council Teachers of Mathematics and Delta Kappa Gamma.

She loved to travel, and made many overseas summer trips while chaperoning high school students. Her travel included domestic trips too, with yearly bus trips to New York City to see the Christmas decorations and Broadway shows and driving around the country in her beloved Cadillac Sedan deVille. She had an incredible memory for small details and people's names. She enjoyed going to see horse racing and loved watching NASCAR races. She volunteered at the Clearfield County Fair for many years, and she enjoyed crafting, and was very talented at knitting, tatting and crocheting.

She is survived by her sister, Emily K. Hepler of Loveland, CO; two nieces, Karen Rosenlof and husband Mike, and Candy Adkison and husband Al; a nephew, Erik Hepler and wife Maureen; and several great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Colonial Courtyard on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 2 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield Educational Foundation.
