He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Smay and Ursula Smay (Passmore); his daughters, Sandra Seybold and Betty Louise Smay; and his siblings, Isabella Smay, Josephine Swatsworth, Norma Anderson and Rev. R. Bruce Smay.
He is survived by: his children, James Smay of Clearfield, Harold "Harry" Smay of Clearfield, Patricia Hahn (Gary) of Curwensville and Pamela Berger of Delaware; his grandchildren, William Hill (Jody) of Clearfield, Samantha Hill of Clearfield and Philip Hill of Clearfield; and his siblings, Robert L. Smay of Anchorage, Alaska, Elizabeth U. "Betty" Cadden of Delaware, Clyde Smay (Marcia) of Clearfield, Joseph Smay (Madelyn) of Clearfield, Mary Marassa of Florida, Roy Smay (Dorothy) of Florida and Richard Smay (Ethel) of Grampian. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
