With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edith E. Merle of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 27, 2022 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Frank J. Merle; her brother Boyd Ord Anderson; her half-brothers, Charles "Bud" Bell and William "Billy" Bell; and her son-in-law William F. Naughton.
She is survived by: her children, Victoria Naughton of Northbrook, IL and Frank Merle IV; her daughter-in-law Deborah of Madeira, OH.; her grandchildren, John Naughton of Plainfield, IL, Mark Naughton of Lafayette, CO, Cynthia Lewis (Merle) of Madeira, OH and Frank Merle V of Valencia, CA.; her great grandchildren, Alec, Tommy, Matthew, Katie, Anna Lewis and Frankie Merle VI; her sister Charlotte; and also Elizabeth (Betsy).
It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Cancer Society, St. John's Lutheran Church at 217 E. Pine Street, Clearfield, PA 16830, or to a charity of choice.
