He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Swanson and Vada Swanson (Wisor); his sons, Darin Swanson and Frederick Swanson; and his siblings, Ned Swanson and Susan Swanson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Swanson (Folmar); his stepdaughter Robin Miller (Ken); his grandchildren, Angel Swanson, Jesse James Swanson, Alicia Stiles (Jeffrey) and Lucas Miller; and his brothers, Richard E. Swanson (Emma), Thomas E. Swanson Sr. (Sara) and Peter Swanson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
