We are sad to announce that on January 9, 2025, at the age of 85, Mary Magdalene Nycum of Claysburg, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Mary's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Mary has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Adam and Sara Elizabeth Glass (Bare); her husband Robert Leroy Nycum; and her siblings, James Glass and Jean D. Dively.
She is survived by: her children, Eugene Nycum of Jacksonville Florida, Rhonda Nycum of Jacksonville and Sara Scott of Norfolk Virginia; and her siblings, Coralie Ellis of Claysburg, Louella Leedy of East Freedom, Judy Young of Montandon and Bradie Glass of East Freedom. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, and numerous nieces/nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Smith Corner Church (1955 Johnstown Rd, East Freedom, PA 16637). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
