He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Metzler and Margaret Metzler (Blough); and his siblings, Jay Metzler and Reba Jean Metzler. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Marvin Metzler Jr. (Pam), Wendell Metzler (Kimberly), Donna Peachey (Leon) and Betty Clapper; and his siblings, Ralph Metzler, Elmer Metzler, Dave Metzler, Jim Metzler, Avonelle Peachey, Jane Lehman, Ruth Kuhns, Rhoda Yoder and Shirley Yoder. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
