He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Carn and Edna Carn (Lee); his wife Lois E. Delozier; and his siblings, Virginia, Madaline, Eugene, Robert M., W. Fred and Donald L. Carn.
He is survived by: his sons, Fredrick of Hollidaysburg, Brian (Beth Ann) of Middletown and Wayne (Jannie) of Hollidaysburg; his grandchildren, Lauren Thackara, Melissa, Timothy, Ethan, Jacob, Ellie, Jack Carn, Jerry Xu, Sam Yang, Benjamin and Ephraim Wengerd; and his great grandchildren, Marshall and Noelle Thackara.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona.
