He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrl Claar and Alice Claar (Musselman); and his siblings, Harold Claar, Janet Dively and Louise Weyandt.
He is survived by: his wife Aurelia Hidalgo; his children, Edward Myrl Claar II and Elizabeth Ingram; his stepdaughters, Mandie Danner and Jackie Kummrow; his grandchildren, Blake, Alaina Claar, Bryson, Mykaelea, Kynzlea, Laekyn Ingram, Caleb Danner, Laura, Luke Cohan and Kiera; and his sister Anita Fickes.
