He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hammel and Effie Hammel (Lane); his siblings, Carl, Robert Hammel and Mary Mock; and his granddaughter Kylie Marie Musselman.
He is survived by: his wife Louella I. Sickenberger; his children, Jeffrey Hammel of Claysburg, Lisa Hammel of Claysburg and Patricia Glass (Tim) of East Freedom; his grandchildren, Amber Metcalf, Destiny, Briana Harr and Lauren Hammel; and his great grandchildren, Rosealynn and Justin Metcalf.
